Burnham Whites 3 Rams 3

Top of the table Beaconsfield SYCOB Rams lined up against second place Burnham Jaguars Whites for the third time this season with games between these two teams always a close contest this one was to be no different.

The Rams kicked off, keeping possession well, looked the livelier of the two sides, but it was the home side who took the lead with a soft goal to concede. The visitors kicked off and put Burnham straight on the back foot in search of the equalizer, forced a corner that was swung in superbly by Arran straight onto the head of Corey Edwards whose powerful header gave the keeper no chance, 1-1. Both teams battled hard looking to get their noses in front and it was the home side once again with the goal that on another day the keeper would have kept out, 2-1.

But the Rams would not roll over, Arran Gill once again in fine form worked himself half a yard down the left wing, hit the shot with his left foot from well outside the box, lobbed the keeper for one of the goals of the season, 2-2! An enthralling first half finished even.

Burnham kicked off the second half but once again it was the Rams who just edged the play, a strong midfield battle with James and Corey working tirelessly throughout the match, breaking up the play and passing the ball well. But it was the blue and whites who took the lead for the third time with a well worked goal, 3-2. The Rams kicked off for the fourth time in this match passed their way straight through the Burnham side and into the box, excellent passing and movement from Tom, Corey and James with the ball finagling falling to Arran who was cool as cucumber cut back inside to take the shot only for the keeper to make the save, but made no mistake with the rebound firing into the goal, 3-3. Both teams had chances late on to snatch the winner, Burnham hit the outside of the post after a good block from Sean, James fired over late on from close range but in the end a fair result and a credit to the team spirit and work ethic of the SYCOB boys.

Man of the match a tough call with Arran scoring twice and setting up the other goal, but it went to Corey Edwards for his work rate, passing and tough tackling. A top performance from the midfield player.

The home side applauded the visitors off at the end of the match knowing that the draw now puts top spot in the league beyond them, a fantastic match for all to watch with the Rams surely to be crowned Champions!

Well done lads another great team performance from all the players, they have topped the table from the start and deserve to be the League winners, now let’s go on and do the double!

NW Falcons 1 Rams 1 (Friendly)

The League Cup finalists played the League Plate finalists in a friendly match, with the clocks going forward an hour and a 10am kick off, the Rams could be excused for a slightly tired looking performance at times from some of the lads, especially after last weeks fantastic performance and result in the cup.

However the majority of the first half chances went to the away side who were unfortunate not to take an early lead. Some good passing and movement from the lads opened up the Falcons defence on more than one occasion but it appeared that the Rams had left their shooting boots at home! The first half finnished 0-0.

The Falcons who currently sit in 3rd place in Div 2 took the lead early in the second half, hitting us on the counter attack their pacey striker raced through 1 on 1 with the keeper and finnished well. This seamed to wake up the Rams somewhat and were soon back on level terms after top scorer Tom Scott worked his way into the right hand side of the box, skinned two players before working the angle for the shot that looked as if it was going straight at the keeper until the quick thinking James Heady stretched out a leg and diverted it past the keeper, 1-1.

After that is was all SYCOB with numerous chances going begging, Arran was unlucky not to score after his free kick bounced off the top of the bar, but it wasn't to be. We had the chances to win the match, but didn't have the rub of the green.

Don't worry lads the good thing is we are still created plenty of chances, not our best performance but I am sure you will all raise your game next weekend against Burnham Whites!

Chalfont Saints Cobras 2 Bulls 2 (Friendly)

Mixed fortunes for the Bulls who stormed into a two goal lead only to be pegged back by a spirited Cobras side.

The Bulls had the better of the first half. Janni put the Bulls into an early lead scrambling the ball home from close distance, before Lewis christened his new boots with a cool finish to put the Bulls two up.

When Olly hit the bar early in the second half it looked like the Bulls would win comfortably but the Cobras never gave up and they grabbed a goal back midway through the second half. Maybe the Bulls tired - it was a warm morning - or maybe some players began taking it easy, but the Bulls began to look shaky in defence and it was no surprise when the Cobras snatched a well deserved late equaliser.

There was no MOTM this week as all of the Bulls can play much better.

Next week we finish our league season against the improving Holtspur Bucks. With the end of season awards on the horizon - and with increased competition for places in next season's squad - it is important for all of the Bulls players to round off the season with a great performance!

Rams 1 BJ Jaguars Whites 0

Beaconsfield SYCOB Rams lined up against Burnham Junior Whites on a sunny Mothering Sunday with a place in the League Cup Final at stake.

It was the boys in red and white that started the brightest, pressurising the Jaguars from the off. The Rams kept possession well, moving the ball about nicely created the first couple of chances, Arran once again did fantastic down the left wing. Lewis and Corey were energetic in midfield. Jamie and Sean were solid as ever in defence giving nothing away ensuring Connor in goal didn't have to make a save in the first half.

After a spell of consistent Rams pressure the ball finally fell to Tom Scott in the box who kept his shot down well and fired home to give the home side the lead, 1-0. The Rams looked much the better side in the first half winning almost every 50/50 ball that was going.

The second half continued much the same as the first with the home side dominant in possession, denying the visitors any time or space on the pitch. James did well in the centre of midfield, Callum, Ben & Connor can all be proud of their solid performances and clean sheets for Lewis and Connor in goal.

The match ended 1-0 to Beaconsfield who booked themselves a place in the final against Boyne Hill Tornadoes.

A fantastic team performance from every single player and a joy to watch such determination all over the pitch, well done boys a great result!

Rams 3 Chalfont Saints Sharks 1

After an earlier defeat in the season with only 6 players on the field the Rams were keen to make ammends and made a quick start, James Heady picked the ball up on the half way line and made a great run down the right wing, working his way into the box fired a low hard drive down at the near post that was hit too hard for the goalie to keep out. The Sharks broke away against the run of play, Connor in goal had no chance as the Chalfont striker blasted home to make it 1-1. both teams had chances to take the lead but went into the break all square at 1-1.

The Rams took control of the match in the second half, with the slight down hill advantage pushed for the lead and were soon rewarded for their efforts when Corey Edwards fired home after some great passing through from defence and midfield. A big goal kick by Lewis found Corey Edwards in the centre circle was flicked on to Tom Scott who fired home to make it 3-1 and secure all 3 points for the home side. A top class performance from the little striker who terrorised the Chalfont defenders for the whole match. Lewis made a fantastic save in the Rams goal late on, palming the ball up onto the cross bar and post after a fierce strike. Sean was excellent down the right hand side, Jamie, Callum and Ben all did well too, Arran once again displayed his fantastic technical ability with some nice footwork.

A great result in a must win match for the Rams who maintain their push for the title, two league games left and 4 points from these two remianing games should be enough to clinch it!

Old Windsor Tigers 2 Bulls 0

A terrible game, ruined by an unsuitable pitch.

The pitch size was similar to the set up we use for 4v4 training games. With two 7-a-side teams on the pitch there was no space for players on either team to show their skills.

Old Windsor's tactics were clear from the first minute when a big kick from the Tigers keeper flew over everyone's head and bounced over the Bulls bar. Throughout the game the Old Windsor players crowded Jordan's area whenever their keeper had the ball in his hands. That many of his kicks sailed over the bar at the other end shows just how ridiculously small the pitch was.

The Tigers keeper had more "shots" on goal than every other player put together!

A pity for the boys on both sides who were denied a proper game of football.

Motm : Oliver, another good performance

Eton Wick 3 Rams 2

The Rams lined up for the 3rd time this season against Eton Wick on a surprisingly small pitch with goals that didn't quite look suitable for mini soccer being over 6ft high!

The boys from Beaconsfield opened the scoring when Arran set up Tom to fire home, 1-0. From the resulting Eton Wick kick off, the ball was laid back to the giant number 9 who smashed the ball up in the air catching Lewis in the SYCOB goal off guard, backpeddeling, he managed to get a hand to it, but couldn't keep the ball out that had dropped from the sky, 1-1.

Tom Scott doubled his tally for the day this time Corey getting the assist. A dubious free kick was awarded to the home side just inside their own half and once again the ball was smashed up in the air with the wind behind it, dropped into the Rams goal, again giving Lewis little chance, 2-2.

The Rams battled bravely against a big, strong physical side but it appeared as though they were out of luck, James had earlier headed over from a couple of yards out after good work and a great cross down the left wing from Arran, he also went close with a couple of free kicks.

Lewis made a couple of good saves from long range shots but when the game appeared to be ending in a draw another contentious decision from the home referee in awarding his side a corner which was curled in neatly by the left footer slightly assisted by the wind, 3-2. That was the last kick of the game as the ref blew up (not literally unfortunately!) as the Rams kicked off.

Man of the match went to Connor Cambell who battled braveley throughout and appears to be growing in confidence with every game!

Just to remind players and supporters that no matter how bad you think a referee is we have to RESPECT his decisions and get on with the game!
