Bulls 0 New Windsor Seahawks 2

A disappointing defeat for the Bulls who never really got started. Playing against a big team on the small pitch the Bulls found it hard to get forward and were 2-0 down at the break.

The Bulls matched the Seahawks in the second half but there were few clear chances at either end. It was a scrappy game and we know that the Bulls can play better.

Josh was motm for a solid first half display in goal and for 100% effort in the second half.

New Windsor Eagles 3 Bulls 3

What a great fight back! 3-0 down early in the second half, it seemed as if the Bulls were heading for defeat until Jack smashed home his first goal of the season to begin to turn things around.

The first half was a familiar story. The Bulls more than matched New Windsor but just couldn't get the ball into the net. Two fast break aways from the Eagles caught our defence cold and we went in the break two goals behind.

Boosted by the arrival of Callum at half time, the Bulls went in the second half with plenty of confidence, but disaster struck in the first few minutes. Yet again the Eagles broke quickly after the Bulls lost possession and unbelievably it was 3-0!

But the Bulls never gave up. Oliver kept encouraging the team, Max, Janni, Jack and Lewis worked their socks off, Joel made every tackle, Jamie and Callum competed for every ball. When New Windsor did break out of their half Josh was always alert in goal.

Eventually the Bulls pressure paid off. Max's shot bounced off a New Windsor defender and Jack seized on the chance to put the Bulls back in the game. It was one way traffic for the rest of the second half. A shot from Oliver was pushed out by the Eagles keeper and Jamie reacted quickly to keep up his excellent recent goalscoring record.

With the Bulls pushing for an equaliser, New Windsor almost caught us again on the break: having their fourth goal ruled out by the sharped-eyed ref for a push on Lewis.

With two minutes to go the Bulls won a free kick just outside of the New Windsor area. Up stepped Oliver. It was in the same place as the free kick Olly converted to grab a 3-3 draw against Old Windsor Tigers a few weeks ago. Could he possibly do it again? The free kick was struck just as crisply, the New Windsor wall scattered, the keeper was beaten... but this time the ball rebounded off a post. A crazy goal mouth scramble failed to get the ball over the line and it seemed that the Bulls had lost after all.

But there was one more twist! With one of the goals of the season so far - a rocket from the edge of the box into the top corner - Janni grabbed the equaliser in the very last minute. A great goal, a super effort and a fabulous fight back! Well done Bulls!

motm : Jamie - battled superbly, hit the net yet again, his passing improves every match

Chalfont St Cobras 2 Bulls 1

How the Bulls lost this we will never know!

The Bulls dominated possession from the start. With most of the first ten minutes spent in the Cobras half it seemed only a matter of time until the Bulls would take the lead.

A long kick from the Cobras' keeper - on a smaller than usual pitch - bounced over our defenders heads and flew past Jordan in goal. Unbelievably, 1-0! With the Bulls still stunned at being behind, a rare Cobras corner was pushed into the air by Jordan and a Cobras striker reacted quickly to put Chalfont two up.

At half time, the Bulls were still confident of making a come back. Everybody could see that the Bulls had been the better team and the Bulls remained in good spirits. Janni summed it up: "That was the funniest goal I've ever seen!".

The Bulls bombarded the Cobras goal throughout the second half. A succession of superb corners from Max led to chance after chance. Headers flew over, volleys hit the side netting, the Cobras keeper pulled off a couple of fantastic saves. Eventually Jamie got the break though, after Callum had touched on yet another of Max's corners. More goals seemed sure to follow as the Bulls spent the rest of the half in or around the Cobra's penalty area, but somehow the equaliser never came.

The Cobra's manager said after the game, "We rode our luck a bit there!". That's football. Hopefully, the Bulls will get their share of good luck soon.

Max was man of the match, for his all-round play and for delivering so many quality corners.

motm: Max

Chalfont St Sharks 4 Rams 1

The Rams had one of the toughest tests this week, going to Chalfont Sharks who are one of the strong teams in the league, with only a bare seven players and then at the last minute having to play with only six .

The boys took up the challenge without any hesitation and started the game by putting Chalfont under pressure from the off by tackling and chasing every ball. Some great crosses from James and Tom nearly gave us an early goal, if it wasn't for the under pressure chalfont defence just clearing their goal line. On the rare occasion Chalfont got through our solid defence, we had Ben on fantastic form pulling off some excellent saves.

Then the break came when James played the ball to Lewis who drove the ball into the box. A deflection took the ball past the Chalfont keeper.

After half time and a well earned rest, the boys kept battling with Arran not just winning the ball but passing the ball onto Tom whose shot just went past the post. Chalfont started to use the extra player more and, but for Sean's tough tackling and and skills, could have equalized. Chalfont pressured more and scored from a well taken corner. Chalfont had to wait till near the end before they got their winning goals.

The lads heads did not go down and they battled to the end. Man of the match went to every single one of the team for a brave effort, even the Chalfont supporters praised the Rams efforts knowing that if we had a full team the win would have been ours.

motm: Arran, Ben, James, Lewis, Sean, Tom

Assistance Please

Can you please help out with carrying the goals over on match days? All help is greatly appreciated.

Bulls 3 Old Windsor Tigers 3

An exciting, end-to-end match with some great goals!

A closely fought first half saw the Bulls get on the score sheet with another excellent solo-effort from Jamie. Unfortunately a defensive mix-up at the other end meant that we went into the break level.

The second half saw chances at both ends. A well taken goal from Callum gave the Bulls a brief lead before Old Windsor stormed back to equalise and then to lead 3-2.

With time running out, the Bulls earned a free kick a few metres outside of the penalty area. Oliver stepped forward and fired an unstoppable shot past the wall and beyond the Tigers keeper. 3-3!

The Bulls are improving steadily. Work on throw-ins at training has begun to pay off (much better throw ins!) and we are attacking more quickly. Keep it up Bulls!

Oliver was a popular choice for motm. As well as his superb free kick, Olly led the defence against a fast and skilful Old Windsor attack. At times Olly had three different partners in defence but managed to keep a good shape and gave the team great leadership.

motm : Oliver

Rams 2 Real Holtspur 0

The SYCOB Rams lined up against the only other team in Division A with an undefeated record, something had to give. Real Holtspur had recently beaten our arch rivals Burnham Whites doing us a favour in the process!

After a minutes silence for Rememberance Sunday the game was underway, the Rams started brightly and dominated early possession not giving a second for Real to get their foot on the ball and pick a pass. The lions share of the chances went to the home side with the deadlock being broken just before half time with Tom Scott finishing an excellent series of passes with a tap in from close range, Lewis Dudzik crossing the square ball accross the box to allow Tommy an easy tap in. The first half finnished 1-0.

The second half continued in a similar fashion to the first half with the same levels of determination. Corey had a chance to make it 2-0 after some great passing and movement opened up the space, the ball was squared leaving the goal empty open for a tap in but Corey couldnt sort his feet out in time to make the finnish. But less than 5 minutes later a carbon copy of the first goal and the earlier chance saw Corey working his way to the byline and rolling an excellent pass to set up James who made no mistake and buried the ball into the open goal to wrap the game up with minutes left on the clock.

One of our best performances this season, Lewis, Tom, James, Corey were on top form. Dogged defending from Callum, Ben and Sean and a couple of decent saves Connor ensured a clean sheet for the Beaconsfield Boys, well done to all the lads!

MOTM went to the energetic Corey Edwards for another excellent performance dominating the Central midfield with his tough tackling!

Hillingdon Youth 4 Bulls 1 (League Plate)

A harsh scoreline does not reflect how well the Bulls played against Division A opposition.

After losing a goal in the first minute (a mix up from a goal kick) the Bulls battled back, equalising a few minutes later with a fabulous individual effort from Jamie. The rest of the first half was very even : Hillingdon having most of the possession, but the Bulls defending well and looking dangerous on the break. An excellent goal by Hillingdon just before the break made the half time score 2-1.

Playing without subs on a big, muddy pitch, the second half was always going to be hard work for the Bulls, but the boys battled away superbly. Callum and Jamie were awesome in midfield, winning lots of possession and getting forward to threaten the Hillingdon goal.

A fast Hillingdon break away midway through the half caught us outnumbered in defence and led to Hillingdon's third goal. Even when Hillingdon added a fourth - an unfortunate deflection from a fierce cross - the Bulls kept battling until the end.

It was hard to pick a man of the match on a day when everybody gave 100%, but Josh deserves special mention for superb effort and amazing energy. Imagine the Duracell bunny after three shredded wheats and you'll have a good idea of Josh's non-stop performance. Well done Josh!

If the Bulls can reproduce this effort in the league matches then results are sure to improve. Even though we lost this match, there was a lot to be proud of.

Motm : Josh

Rams 2 Eton Wick 0 (League Cup)

The Rams lined up against Eton Wick in the 1st Round of the League Cup knowing that victory would see them proceed to the next round.

The SYCOB boys dominated possession against a big strong side and they made the breakthrough after some good passing and movement through midfield finnished with a low shot from Corey Edwards past the keeper. Eton Wick threatened an equaliser hitting us on the break a couple of times but the Rams defence was too strong for them. Several top saves from the Eton Wick keeper ensured the first half score line was only 1-0.

The second half continued much the same as the first with the home side dominating the play, it was backs against the wall from Eton who ensured they had plenty of lads behind the ball to try and limit the damage. Sean Chivers shifted the ball to work the space for a shot on goal that was poked in from close range by Tom Scott. James Heady was in good form again, Lewis was hard working as usual and all the boys can take credit for a well fought victory which see the Rams progress into the 2nd Round. Arran did well once again, kept possession well and picked out some great passes, Callum and Connor Campbell ensured the Rams kept a clean sheet and limited the Away sides chances!

MOTM went to Sean Chivers for a fine performance, once again displaying his versatility by playing in 3 different positions during the match, well done Sean!

Jack's back!

It was great to see Jack Breith back in training on Saturday. Jack has missed the whole season so far since getting injured in training, but if his two goals in Saturday's practise match are anything to go by it won't be long until he is banging in the goals for the Bulls again. Welcome back Jack!

Hillingdon Youth 0 RAMS 5

On a wet and windy autumnal day SYCOB Rams travelled over to Hillingdon with great expectation of continuing their fine start to the season against a side still in search of their first points of the season.

The first ten minutes or so were fairly even with both sides measuring each other up with chances at either end. Corey came on in midfield and made an immediate impact scoring 2 goals.

Tom once again worked tirelessly up front and netted a brace for his efforts. The first half ended 4-0 to the away side with the Rams now in control of the match.

The second half saw the Rams continue to press for more goals and James Heady whipped another delightful ball into the box which was turned home by Sean for our 5th goal.
A clean sheet from defensive trio of Callum, Jordan and Jamie was well deserved for all their hard work.

MOTM was Arran with outstanding performance, he set up two goals and scored one himself and probably passed the ball more than any other player on the pitch rarely losing possession, well done Arran.

Lewis was once again strong in midfield, and all the boys can be proud of a fine effort in adverse conditions. Lets see if the mum's pass the Daz challenge and get the kits looking brand new for next weeks cup game at home to Eton Wick.

Rams 6 Bedfont Eagles 1

Top of the table Beaconsfield Rams lined up against bottom of the table Bedfont Eagles who are now under new management.

The Rams who are still undefeated this season opened the scoring after some good work from Aaran Gill, Sean Chivers finished from close range. Bedfont didnt lose faith though after conceding the early goal and were soon back on level terms after a good finish curling the ball around the diving Corey Edwards in goal who stood no chance.

Beaconsfield regained their composure and shape with two goals from Callum Gray, one of which was a tad dubious after the corner was whipped in from Tom Scott, Callum insists he got a touch on it! Another super performance by Arran Gill was capped off with a goal and another powerful strike from our top goalscorer Tom Scott completed the scoring and the game finnished 6-1. Sean Chivers kept a clean sheet in the Rams goal in the second half, James Heady was once again full of running in the midfield along with Lewis Dudzik. MOTM was Ben Hillier for another gutsy performance.

Bulls 2 Boyne Hill Bullets 3

A disappointing defeat for the Bulls against an improving Boyne Hill team. The Bulls had all of the early pressure and took the lead when Janni followed up a long range effort from Oliver. Boyne Hill equalised with a breakaway goal against the run of play and the teams were still level at half time.

With 11 players available, the Bulls team was changed around completely at half time and perhaps took a while to settle back into the game. Boyne Hill took the lead early in the second half only for Callum to get us back on level terms soon after. In an even second half either team could have grabbed the winner: unfortunately it was Boyne Hill who managed to get the all important final goal.

We have a lot of things to work on in training: better marking in defence, getting the ball clear, attacking more quickly, looking up before passing or shooting... The Bulls can play much better than we did today.

Man of the match went to Jamie, who made his debut for the Bulls in the second half. Jamie was powerful, determined, competed for the ball and made some good runs forward. Well done Jamie!

Holtspur Bucks 2 Bulls 10

A deserved first win for the Bulls. Great performances from everyone involved today and the goals that have seemed so difficult in the last few weeks, were flying in from the start. Indeed the final goal tally could have been much higher, if not for a good game from the Holstpur goalkeeper.

4 goals from Janni, 3 from Bradley, and 1 each from Charlie, Callum and Oliver ; even Joel managed to get on the score sheet, unfortunately not at the right end of the pitch! There were many contenders for man of the match, which was very a difficult decision - Janni with his best performance of the season (some great shooting, running and passing), Charlie (who was revelling in the chance to play in attack), Bradley scored three fine goals and was positive and determined throughout. Lewis and Callum were dogged and hard working in midfield, Joel and Josh defended well, and Jordan remained focused with some decent saves, despite having very little to do for most of the match.

Man of the match was awarded to Oliver for another consistent captain's game in both defence and midfield, particularly for keeping Holtspur under pressure throughout with some great passes and long shots. A deserved victory that will hopefully provide some confidence for tougher matches that will follow.

New Windsor Barca 2 Rams 3

The Rams travelled to New Windsor Barca's new ground at Imperial Park in Windsor. Barca were undefeated this season and looked to be a formidable side.

Windsor kicked off the first half and the Rams set about them in typical fashion, not giving a single player any time or space on the ball. The first 10 minutes was totally one sided, Tom Scott gave us the lead after some excellent passing and movement through the midfield. A string of fine saves from the Barca keeper ensured the score remianed at 1-0. The Rams must have had a least 10 shots on target in a period of around 5 minutes sustained pressure but could not double their lead. Barca then broke and hit us on the break but the final shot missed the target. From the resulting goal kick the defence didn't clear the ball quick enough and were caught in possession. Ben Hillier in the Rams goal didn't stand a chance when the Windsor player hit a fantastic lob shot over him to make it 1-1. Once again the Rams piled on the pressure but the half time whistle ensured the scores remained level.

The second half kicked off and the Rams continued the assault on the Barca goal. After a mazey run through the midfield from Lewis Dudzik he struck a fine shot into the corner of the goal from outside the box to give us the lead, 2-1. The league leaders continued to carve out chance after chance and it was a powerful shot from Tom Scott which led to our 3rd goal. The keeper could not hold onto the close range shot and the ball fell to James Heady and was in the net before he even knew what had happened! Credit to James though again for being in the right place at the right time, 3-1.

Our eagerness to score more goals though was almost our undoing as we were left exposed at the back on several occasions. The pacey forward player from Windsor was too quick for the SYCOB defenders to catch and he neatly rounded Connor in the Rams goal and finnished well, 3-2. The boys held on though for a deserved win and another great game.

MOTM was Callum Gray this week with another solid performance.

Boyne Hill Tornadoes 5 Bulls 0 (Cup)

The Bulls battled hard to keep the score down against the division B leaders. Playing in heavy rain throughout the game the Bulls kept going against strong opponents.

There were several very good performances. Joel and Lewis again justified their places in the starting line-up, Oliver led by example as captain and Josh made a good job of man-marking Boyne Hill's star player (a difficult task!).

Man of the match Jordan had little chance with any of the goals. He made a series of excellent saves and brave blocks to keep the scoreline respectable.

The Bulls will not play such strong opponents again this season. If they continue to show such great spirit and effort then a first league win can't be far away.

Man of the match: Jordan

Rams 3 NW Falcons 1 (CUP)

Our entry into the League Cup or Plate would be decided on this match. Our opponents were from the Division below us but put up a brave fight.

Our ever reliable striker Tom Scott opened the scoring after some good work in midfield from Ben and Connor. Callum doubled the lead shortly after, Tom Scott playing a sqaure ball accross the edge of the box and Callum slotted home into the bottom corner, that 2 goals in 2 games for him now. Corey Edwards in the Rams goal was pretty much untroubled in the first half with the defensive duo of Sean and Lewis limiting the visitors chances. First half finnished 2-0 to the home side.

The second half kicked off and the Falcons fought hard to get back into the match and after a couple of good saves from James Heady in the SYCOB goal he was left exposed again and Windsor got a goal back, 2-1 and game on!

The Falcons pushed hard for an eqauliser and came close a couple of times until the Rams hit them on the counter attack, Corey Edwards finnishing off the move to make it 3-1. That's 3 in 3 now for Corey Edwards.

MOTM went to captain for the day Connor Campbell for a solid performance in the centre of midfield.

We could have scored a few more goals late on, if some of the lads would have got their heads up and played the simple pass to the man in space, instead of going on solo runs. But the Rams progress to the First Round of the League Cup on a very wet and windy day. Well done boys!

Bulls 0 Upton Youth 1

The Bulls came within a few minutes of being the first team this season to take a point off table-topping Upton Youth.

The visitors started brightly and kept the Bulls in our own half for most of the first half. An excellent defensive display by Joel and Charlie - and a string of good saves by man of the match Jordan - helped to keep the scores level at the break.

In an even second half the Bulls had plenty of possession around the Upton Youth penalty box but couldn't quite turn the possession into clear chances. The Bulls worked hard enough to deserve a draw and so it was especially disappointing to concede such a late goal.

To their credit the boys came back strongly, trying for an equaliser right to the final whistle.

Man of the match : Jordan

Sunday, September 28, 2008

Rams 5 Eton Wick 0

The Rams lined up against a big Eton Wick side in which looked to be another tough encounter. SYCOB Rams had two birthday boys hitting 9 years of age and looked to extend their unbeaten start to the season. The home team started brightly with several chances being created and it was only through some excellent goal keeping from the visitors kept the score at 0-0.

Captain for today Corey Edwards was on the score sheet again with a well taken effort. Tom Scott with the assist set up James Heady to fire home. James doubled his tally for the day with a fantastic shot that left the keeper no chance. Thats 3 goals in 2 games for the energetic midfielder.

Callum completed the scoring making it 5-0 with a rare goal, after another well hit free kick from Lewis Dudzik was turned in past the keeper.

Sean Chivers was unlucky not to get on the score sheet after his corner looked to have crossed the line but the ref didnt give it.

MOTM again was difficult to chose from with some many sublime performances but this week it went to Arran Gill. After missing a couple of tricky earlier efforts, Arran eventually got his first goal of the season. He was unlucky not to score more as he created several chances with his great vision and spacial awareness. Well done Arran.

Connor and Callum both had a quiet time in the Rams goal and look forward to a good runout in the cup next week against Windsor.

Ben Hillier again was solid in defence, and all the lads can take credit from one of the best team performances so far this season and the first clean sheet!

West Drayton Explorers 1 Bulls 1

A huge improvement from the Bulls who were very unlucky not to win the game.

West Drayton won 7-1 last week, but the Bulls were the better team for most of the game. A good shot from Callum gave the Bulls a deserved lead halfway through a hard fought first half. The half-time whistle blew just as the Bulls had a great chance to make it 2-0!

West Drayton equalised early in the second half with a close range tap in from a corner. Apart from that, the Bulls defence was back to its best, with Oliver playing alongside Joel (who played his best game so far, almost winning the man of the match). Even when we lost Oliver and Jordan through injury, the defence was solid. Credit to Charlie who played in midfield, in defence and in goal, performing equally well in all positions.

Everybody played much better than last week. All ten players gave 100% effort and we began to see some nice passing moves from defence through to attack.

Man of the match was Callum. He was the only Bull to play for every minute of the match, showed great commitment, ran the midfield, got forward at every opportunity and scored our goal. Only the crossbar prevented Callum from grabbing a late winner. Superb display!

Burnham Blues 1 Rams 9

Another tough fixture early in the season saw the Rams pick up their first win of the season in impressive style. The boys dominated from the first to the final whistle. Hat tricks from MOTM Lewis Dudzik and Tom Scott along with first league goals of the season for James Heady and Corey Edwards saw the Rams run out 9-1 winners.

The Burnham goal was peppered with shots throughout the match with their keeper making several quality saves. Burnham did get one back in the first half after a good cross from the wing was neatly tucked away. The Blues never really looked like getting into the match and it was well and truly beyond their reach after Lewis smashed home a free kick from long range to make it 4-1.

Tom and James combined well down the left hand side mid way through the second half with several neat one twos around the Burnham defenders before Tom smashed the ball into the roof of the net in style.

Sean Chivers had another solid game, Callum Gray kept a clean sheet in goal second half and assured defensive displays from Connor Cambell and Ben Hillier.

The Rams were Rampant once again and had the crowd and sponsors buzzing with delight! Eton Wick next week and another tough test for the boys from Beaconsfield.

Monday, September 15, 2008

Bulls 1 New Windsor Eagles 4

A disappointing start to the season for the Bulls. Despite having plenty of possession the Bulls struggled to make clear chances against an energetic Eagles team and were guilty of some sloppy defending.

Bright spots included good performances from Callum, Bradley and Charlie. Bradley's well taken goal is hopefully the first of many from him this season.

The Bulls can play much better than this. We have a difficult away fixture at West Drayton Explorers next weekend and need everyone to improve their game for that.

Man of the match : Bradley

Sunday, September 14, 2008

Rams 1 Burnham Whites 1

The Rams started the season with a solid performance and a well earned point against a strong Burnham side. Lewis Dudzik broke the deadlock early on in the match after some positive quick play from Beaconsfield.

Burnham in search of the equaliser won a free kick on the left hand side that was neatly dispatched into the top corner. The blue & whites fought hard to get back into the game but a good save from Callum Gray in the Rams goal kept the scores level.

The second half it was mainly the home side who looked like taking all three points with some clever play from Arran in midfield. Tom Scott always looked a threat up front but the Rams just could not break down a resilient Burnham side.

Good performances from Sean, James and Corey who worked tirelessly throughout the match. Ben Hillier made a couple of great tackles later on to deny Burnham shooting opportunities. Connor Campbell kept a clean sheet in the second half and all in all a thoroughly enjoyable match to watch.

PRE SEASON FRIENDLY

RAMS 6 BURNHAM BLUES 1

The Rams started the game brightly, passing and moving well off the ball creating plenty of chances before Corey Edwards opened the scoring with a well taken finnish. Tom Scott made it 2 nil shortly afterwards stabbing home from close range. A midfield trio of Arran, Lewis and Corey linking up well together created plenty of chances and Tom Scott playing as a lone striker made it 3-0 shortly before half time. Connor and Sean were solid in defence limiting Burnham to only a couple of efforts at Callum in goal.

Second half the Rams continued the good performance extending the lead with Corey grabbing his second of the game and Tom Scott firing home to grab his hat trick! Lewis Dudzik completed the rout for Beaconsfield and hitting Burnham for 6! Burnham did however get some consolation with a late strike that bounced awkwardly over Connor in the Rams goal.

A thoroughly enjoyable match to watch and hopefully a sign of things to come for the coming season if the boys can contiune this fine form.

BURNHAM PRE SEASON TOURNAMENT - Bulls

Bulls 0 Slough Irish Youth 0
Bulls 0 Burnham Blues 1
Bulls 1 Chalfont Saints 2
Bulls 0 Iver Heath Minors 4

A useful pre-season warm up for the Bulls with four tough games against good teams. Positives included another excellent performance by Callum B and a good debut by Lewis C. The Bulls have a much stronger squad this season and there is going to be a lot of competition for places. Everybody is going to have to work hard for a place in the team.

BURNHAM PRE SEASON TOURNAMENT - Rams

SATURDAY 30TH AUGUST

Rams 1 Ruislip Manor 0
Rams 0 West Drayton 0
Rams 0 Burnham 1
Rams 1 Maidenhead 2

A good start from the Rams with one nil win over Ruislip Manor, the goal coming from Sean Chivers who fired home after a good cross from Lewis Dudzik.

The second game saw the Rams take on a tough West Drayton side and a hard fought match saw the game end 0 - 0.

Next up was the hosts Burnham who after starting a man down soon had a spare player even up the numbers and they left it late, almost the last kick of the game saw them take the victory with a powerful finish.

The final match against one of the top teams in the county saw the opponents taking the lead, the Rams fought back to level the scores at half time with James Heady pouncing on the rebound after shots from Lewis and Aaran Gill.

Plenty of positives to take away from today and not just a sun tan! The best teams in Berks and Bucks on show and some great football. Two clean sheets a credit to the defenders and a good warm up for the coming season.

CHALFONT SAINTS TOURNAMENT 22nd JUNE - Bulls

Bulls 0 Chalfont Saints B 0
Bulls 1 Downley Dynamos 0
Bulls 0 Hughenden Valley A 0
Bulls 0 Chesham United Blue 0
Bulls 2 Chalfont St Peter A 0

An excellent day for the Bulls, who could easily have won all five games.

The first game was the closest, with new keeper Jordan making some good saves at one end while the Bulls also came close to scoring at the other end.

Having been sub in the first game, Jack made a dream debut for the Bulls in the second game, connecting with a low, hard corner to fire the Bulls ahead.

The Bulls had the better of the third and fourth games, forcing a series of corners, but had to settle for two draws.

Janni's best performances for the Bulls so far were rewarded with two goals from close range to help the Bulls to victory in the last game.

The three new players - Jordan, Jack and Callum - fitted into the team straight away. Olly and Josh were terrific in defence; Bradley, Callum and Max were energetic, skilful and strong in midfield; Janni and Jack scored goals and worked hard for the team.

Sunny weather, good results and great performances throughout the team!

Rams 4 Chesham Utd 0
Rams 2 Bedfont Eagles 0
Rams 3 AFC Luton 0
Rams 0 Sandgate 0
Rams 5 Chalfont St. Peter 0

Five clean sheets and 14 goals scored, a fantastic set of performances from the Rams, with Tom Scott scoring 6 goals, Lewis Dudzik 4, James Heady 2, Aaran Gill 1 and Corey Edwards 1.

Solid consistent displays from Connor Cambell, Ben Hillier and Callum Gray with all the lads passing well throughout the day.

BEDFONT EAGLES TOURNAMENT SAT 7th JUNE

Bulls 0 West Drayton 1
Bulls 0 Hayes Gate 2
Bulls 2 Hillingdon Abbots B 0
Bulls 0 Bedfont Eagles A 1
Bulls 0 Hanwell 0

A mixed set of results and performances for the Bulls. After starting slowly, losing the first two games, the Bulls won the third game convincing with two goals from Bradley.

The 1-0 defeat to the hosts, Bedfont Eagles, was very unlucky. It was an even game decided by a very harsh penalty awarded to the home team. The Bulls had the better of the final game but couldn't quite manage a goal.

Art made his first appearances for the Bulls, allowing us to field a full team of seven. With a couple of players missing the Bulls again played without subs throughout the tournament. If we can recruit one or two more players, to add to the improving players we already have, the Bulls can be optimistic about the new season.

BEDFONT EAGLES TOURNAMENT SAT 7TH JUNE

Rams 3 Harlington 0
Rams 0 Ballers FC 0
Rams 2 Befont Eagles 0
Rams 1 Hillingdon Abbots 0
Rams 0 Bedfont Green 1

A great start for the Rams with a comfortable three nil victory over Harlington with goals from Corey Edwards, Tom Scott & Lewis Dudzik.

Second match and a hard fought game against a good side from Hammersmith who we later found out had won the Hayes & District U8's league this season. The best chances fell to the Rams but they just couldnt make the break through.

Third game saw the Rams up against the hosts who held out for most of the game with some good defending until a rare goal from Callum Gray lobbing the keeper with his left foot from distance. Tom Scott made it two nil with a powerful longe range effort that the Bedfont keeper just couldn't hold on to.

Fourth match and another well contested game, Tom Scott scored the only game of the match taking him to 3 goals for the tournament.

Final match and the Rams battled hard against one of the strongest teams at the tournament and were exteremely unfortunate to lose as Bedfont Green scored with literally the last kick of the game.

Overall a good tournament from the Rams conceding just one goal in 5 games and scoring 6 goals. They were unlucky not to be in the top two that went through to the semi finals and deserved more for all their hard work.

The Rams and The Bulls play in the Slough Mini-Soccer League. You can find out more about Mini-Soccer at the FA website.

We are part of Beaconsfield SYCOB FC, one of the best established football clubs in the area. Beaconsfield SYCOB run a number of teams at all age levels. Season 2007-2008 has been another great year for the club : the senior squad won a historic treble and our under-11s, under-12s and under-13s all won their respective leagues.

Home games and training are held at our Youth Academy at Farnham Park on the A355, mid-way between Beaconsfield and Slough.

We have a few places available for new players for next season (2008-2009). For the next season players must be under nine years old as of 31st August 2008.

The Rams and The Bulls

The Rams are about to enter their fourth season. They are one of the best teams in the Slough Mini-Soccer League, having won 12 and drawn 4 of their 17 games this season.

Our second team, The Bulls, was created at the beginning of this season and have quickly become established.

Training

Training takes place at Farnham Park on Saturday mornings during the season between 10.00-12.00. Training sessions are a mixture of skills coaching and practise matches. The boys are encouraged to develop their fitness, technique and team working skills whilst having fun and enjoying the game.

Team ethic

The main aim of the club is to help the boys to enjoy playing football. The teams are competitive and players are expected to do their best, but our approach is based on motivating players through encouragement and through praising good performances. The boys are expected to behave well, try their best and show respect for their team mates, officials and opponents.

11TH MAY HAREFIELD UTD TOURNAMENT

Rams 3 Parkfield 1
Rams 0 Everett Rovers 1
Rams 0 Bessingby Park Rangers 0
Rams 2 Harefield Utd 0

Rams kicked the day off with a rampant performance against a shell shocked Parkfield who found themselves two down after goals from James Heady and Corey Edwards. Tom Scott got in on the act with a fantastic long range lob over the keeper. Parkfield did get one back but it was too little too late.

Second game saw the Rams face a well organised Everett side who quickly took the lead with only minutes on the clock. The Rams fought hard and pushed for the equaliser and were unlucky not to get it.

The Rams again had the lions share of the ball in this match and the better of the chances but could not make the break through. A late free kick from Tom Scott narrowly missing the target nearly snatched a dramatic winner.

Final game of the day against the hosts finnished two nil to the Rams, with a great performance from Connor Campbell in midfield. Tom Scott and Sean Chivers linked up well together and both got their rewards with a goal apiece. Tom's a well struck long range effort that swerved past the keeper and Sean's cooly slotted into the corner past the oncoming keeper.

All in all a good day for the Rams with 2 wins, 1 draw and 1 defeat. Callum, Connor and Ben combining well at the back helped keep 2 clean sheets. A total of 5 goal scored and a commendable effort in every match, well done Rams!

Bulls 2 Panathinaikos 0
Bulls 2 NW Robins Celta 0
Bulls 0 West Drayton Boys 2
Bulls 0 Brunswick FC 1

Four very encouraging performances by the Bulls, which could easily have been four wins.

Strengthened by Lewis and Arran the Bulls started with comfortable victories over Panathinaikos and Celta : Charlie, Max, Arran and Lewis grabbing the goals.

West Drayton provided tough opposition but the Bulls can count themselves very unlucky to have lost that one. West Drayton's keeper made several good saves and they only had two shots on targets in response (both powerful long shots that gave our goalie little chance).

It was a similar story in the final game. A long range screamer of a free-kick flew into our goal and we had no luck at the other end : Lewis hitting the post twice within a minute!

All in all, there was a lot to be positive about. Apart from the long range efforts, it's hard to recall our opponents having a single shot on goal in any of the four matches (well done, defenders!) and we created plenty of chances going forward.

Friendly Match - Rams 1 Burnham Whites 1

The Rams started brightly once again with the lions share of the possession and chances. Tom Scott in the Rams goal called into action only a couple of times. Arran and Lewis combining well up front came close on several occasions to breaking the deadlock.

James and Corey stamped their authority on the midfield once again with their tough tackling and some good play. Sean brought into defence for the game once again showed his versatility with a solid performance.

The Rams made the break through just before half time with a ferocious long range effort from Corey Edwards too hot for the Burnham keeper to handle with James Heady on hand to pick up the loose ball and slot it away.

The second half Burnham crept back into the game and were pushing for the equaliser with the break through coming down their right hand side, we got sucked in to the ball again similar to how we conceded last week against Chalfont when the cross came in there were 2 un marked players waiting to knock in the leveller past the exposed Corey in goal.

The Rams kept going right to the end, and were almost denied the draw through a somewhat biased refereeing decision over ruled by the makeshift linesman. A good show of fair play from both sides leaving the friendly match ending a fitting 1 - 1 as per the earlier meeting of these 2 sides earlier in the season.

Tom Scott buried the ball home just seconds after the final whistle and assured me after the game that if we would have had 30 seconds extra time we would have won the match!

Friendly Match - Bulls 1 Harefield Utd 4

Maybe it was the early start, but the Bulls began the game sleepily and were 2-0 down by half time.

Things improved a little in the second half and a good finish by Janni brought the Bulls back into the game.

With some players missing the Bulls defence was much less organised than usual. Although we had good possession in the second half we always looked vulnerable in defence and it was no surprise when Harefield added to their lead twice more before the end.

A 1-4 defeat was a bit harsh but we need to work on improving our marking and positional play. Bright spots were Janni's return to goalscoring form and some excellent tackles from motm Bradley.

Burnham Junior FC Pre Season Tournament

Saturday 30th August 2008 @ Cherry Orchard, Burnham

Monday, April 28, 2008

Friendly Match - Chalfont Saints Sharks 2 Rams 1

Another superb performance from the Rams who battled hard from the first to the final whistle despite the adverse weather conditions.

The Rams had most of the best chances and possession in the first half but could not get the goal they deserved. Solid defensive performances from Ben Hillier and Callum Gray limiting the Saints to long range efforts and a couple of good saves Connor Cambell in the Rams goal ensured the first half finnished 0-0.

Early in the second half a speculative shot from Chalfont squeezed past the unfortunate Callum in the SYCOB goal to put the Saints one nil up. The Rams pushed hard for the equalizer and won a corner which was swung in by the energetic Corey Edwards who was again on top form for Tom Scott to smash home the header, 1 -1. Soon after that the Rams had another corner this time curled in by Tom Scott straight onto the head of Corey Edwards who's powerful header came back off the cross bar.

Similar to the first half the Rams had the better of the possession and the chances but the Sharks hit us on the break, finnished of with a good pass accross the box to the unmarked striker who calmly slotted the ball past Callum Gray in goal.

Another outstanding game from the tireless James Heady and good work from Sean Chivers up front.

Friendly Match - Chalfont Saints Pythons 0 Bulls 3

A well-deserved return to winning ways for the Bulls!

With the Bulls a man short at the start, the Saints sportingly agreed to play six-a-side for the first half. An excellent performance by Charlie, covering left-midfield and left-defence, was one of the main reasons that the Bulls had the better of the first half. Well done Charlie, superb effort!

After several games without a goal it was going to take something special to get the Bulls scoring again. That came half way through the first half when Alfie - beating two opponents and then smashing the ball home - scored one of our best goals of the season.

Saints tried hard to get even in the second half and the Bulls defence, well organised by Oliver as usual, had to work hard to protect the lead.

A series of accurate corners from Max paid off when a Saints defender deflected a hard low corner into his own net. 2-0!

On the muddy pitch, the Bulls, playing without subs, showed much improved fitness to keep challenging for every ball. With a few minutes to go, Charlie, Janni and Max managed to create the third goal : Max sprinting past the defence before slotting the ball coolly past the oncoming keeper.

On a day when all the Bulls could be proud of their performance, Alfie was motm, for his spectacular goal and a great all-round contribution.

End of Season Football Festival: Rams games

Rams 2 Hillingdon Youth Reds 0
Rams 1 Iver Heath 3
Rams 2 Burnham Blues 0

A good day for the Rams with two wins and one defeat. Tom Scott and Aaran Gill combined well upfront to get a goal a piece against a determined Hillingdon side.

Iver Heath proved strong opposition and scored a good first goal from a throw in as the Rams went to sleep at the back leaving Lewis Dudzik no chance in goal. Iver struck again early in the second half with a break away goal and soon made it 3 - 0 before the Rams fought back with a consolation goal from Tom Scott.

The final game saw the Rams back to their best and getting their first win against Burnham. Connor Cambell and Callum Gray both had solid games in defence. Corey Edwards had a good game in goal helping keep a clean sheet. In midfield James and Lewis were relentless in their efforts pressurising the Burnham midfield and Lewis was rewarded for all his hard work with 2 goals. Aaran and Sean worked hard up front to keep the Burnham defenders busy, a top performance and a great finnish to the day!

End of season football festival : Bulls games

Bulls 0 New Windsor Robins Celta 0
Bulls 0 Britwell 1
Bulls 0 Harefield 0

Three very close games in which the Bulls defended well but had no luck in front of goal. Goalkeeper Joel picked up motm for the festival, conceding only one goal, making several saves and making no mistakes. Oliver had another excellent performance in defence, Bradley and Alfie battled away throughout all the games, Max provided some great runs and good corners. All of the Bulls can be pleased with their individual efforts.

The Bulls have improved a lot since the start of the season and just need a bit more in attack to start winning games.

Lent Rise Ranger P Rams P

Match Postponed due to Water logged pitch

Harefield United 3 Bulls 0

A harsh scoreline as the game was pretty even throughout. The Bulls had the better of the first half and came close to taking the lead. Losing Bradley, who was having another excellent game, early in the second half allowed Harefield to gradually take charge in midfield. The Bulls went a goal down halfway through the second half, but kept battling on a muddy pitch. Two late Harefield goals were hard on the Bulls. Max picked up motm for continuing to give 100% right to the end.

Tuesday, March 11, 2008

Hillingdon Youth Blacks 2 Bulls 0

An uphill task for the Bulls facing an exceptional opponent on a huge pitch. The Bulls struggled to get out of our half for much of the game, but showed determination and discipline in defence.

Alfie's heroics in goal kept the score down to one-nil at half time. The second half was almost a repeat of the first. With Hillingdon Youth's star player breaking up every potential attack in midfield, goalscoring chances were hard to come by.

There were some bright spots. Sam picked up motm on his debut, having made an immediate impression in defence and attack. Max adapted to a defensive role well in the second half, Oliver played with his usual calm determination, Joel continued his improvement and Janni never gave up looking for a goal. Most of all, Josh and Bradley in midfield showed fantastic effort, making dozens of tackles, always chasing back and still having the energy to push forward.

Overall a hard game, a fair result and several encouraging performances.

Monday, March 10, 2008

Bedfont 1 Rams 4

An in form Sean Chivers continued his goalscoring run for the Rams with another good finnish, James Heady made it two nil from his long range effort with a bit of help from their goalkeeper! After a dominant 1st half display from the Rams, Sean doubled his tally for the day with another fine strike from an accute angle, thats 4 goals in his last 2 games.

In the second half Bedfont tried to get back into the game but solid defending from Connor Campbell and MOTM Ben Hillier put up a strong resistance. Bedfont did get a consolation goal after a quick breakaway by their pacey striker. Late on Thomas Scott also got on the score sheet with a typical poachers goal in the box reacting first to the loose ball and notching up an impressive 20th goal of the season!

Monday, March 3, 2008

Rams 3 Hillingdon Youth Blacks 2

A sublime free kick from MOTM Sean Chivers got the Rams under way before he hit a spectacular long range effort into the top corner. Tom Scott struck to make it 3 nil at half time with a dominant first half performance.

The second half saw Hillingdon pile on the pressure looking for a way back into the match and they did so with two goals in quick succession from their girl of the match who was outstanding throughout the game.

The Blacks kept on pushing for the equaliser but the Rams held onto their lead with some good defending by Connor and Ben.

An enthralling match and another win for the Rams who remain undefeated in 2008.

Bulls 2 Hillingdon Youth Reds 3

A close game between two evenly matched teams. The Bulls took a first half lead through motm Arran and had most of the early possession. A slightly unfortunate equaliser put the sides level at half time and Hillingdon Youth began to get on top early in the second half. A couple of good saves from Oliver kept the Bulls on equal terms until the Reds scored two goals in quick succession. Lewis then set up the Bull's second goal with an excellent cross which was coolly tucked away by Janni (3 goals in the last 4 games!). The Bulls looked capable of snatching an equaliser but couldn't quite find a way through against a good defence.

Bulls 0 Burnham Juniors Cubs Blues 9

A test of character for the Bulls who were matched against a much stronger team. Great credit to the boys for showing a good attitude in such a difficult situation. They kept trying right to the end and were unlucky not to snatch a consolation goal.

Rams 1 Burnham Juniors Cubs Whites 1

A closely contested match between two excellent teams. The Rams fought back after going a goal down early in the second half : a perfectly placed long range lob by James getting the Rams back on level terms. The Rams kept pressing and finished the game looking like the most likely winners. A good match with some quality football.

Sunday, February 17, 2008

NW Robins Deportivo 2 Bulls 3

A hard fought win for the battling Bulls. The Bulls started brightly, taking an early lead from a cracking shot by Bradley, but a determined Deportivo quickly fought back. By half time Deportivo were back on level terms and were starting to get the upperhand.

Both teams showed fantastic effort in an exciting, end-to-end second half. Janni put the Bulls back ahead with a looping effort and a belter from Alfie seemed to have the match sewn up, but Deportivo never gave up. The Bulls had a couple of penalty appeals turned down and Max hit the post, while at the other end a good save by Joel kept Deportivo at bay. Eventually Deportivo pulled a goal back, but the Bulls were determined to hold onto the lead.

Motm was Josh who was sharp in defence, broke forward several times and played on after taking a nasty whack in the first half. Four wins out of five in 2008 for the Bulls!

NW Robins Barca 1 Rams 4

An excellent win for the Rams with a superb second half display. A tightly contested first half saw both teams level at half time, but the Rams moved into top gear after the break. An alert Arran got the Rams on their way, seizing on a goalkeeping fumble to fire in the first goal. Barca continued to pose a threat, but goals from Thomas, Arran with his second and James secured another convincing win for the Rams.

Monday, February 11, 2008

Rams 2 Chalfont Saints Sharks 0

The Rams continued their good form this season with their second win this campaign against Chalfont Sharks.

A highly contested first half ended 0 - 0 with only a handful of opportunities for each team.

Tom Scott put the Rams 1 - 0 up with a fine strike over the keeper, the boys continued to press looking for a second goal and it soon came with a fantastic lob from outside the box by the lively James Heady, taking him up to joint 2nd top goal scorer with 9 goals for the season.

Some great defending from Connor Campbell in the first half and solid goalkeeping in the second half ensured another clean sheet for the Rams.

Sunday, February 10, 2008

Bulls 2 Chalfont Saints Pythons 0

The Bulls were quickly back to winning ways, recording their third win out of four games in 2008 and their first ever clean sheet.

The Bulls took the lead in the first half with a cracking shot from Janni. Only a great penalty save from the Pythons keeper kept the score down to one-nil at half time.

The Bulls went close several times in the second half, with the woodwork and a dodgy refereeing decision denying Janni a hat-trick. A couple of good saves by Callum and superb defending from motm Oliver stopped the Pythons from getting back in the game and a quality finish from Tom sealed the win midway through the second half.

Excellent performances from the energetic Charlie, James and Bradley meant that the Bulls were always on top. Another good win!

Monday, February 4, 2008

Slough Irish 1 Rams 1

It was a scrappy first half with only a couple of half chances falling to the lively Tom Scott who was unfortunate not to get on the scoresheet. The Rams certainly enjoying the best of the first half posession and chances.

Corey Edwards came on in the second half sparking the Rams into life, who were now pushing to take the lead. All their hard work paid off after Lewis Dudzik crossed the ball in for Callum to bend one into the bottom corner past the Slough keeper taking his tally for the season now up to 5!

The Rams continued to pressurise and were unlucky not to get a second before Slough hit us on the break against the run of play.

An impressive performance from Sean Chivers, a tough physical match the game ended 1-1 with both teams taking a share of the spoils.

NW Barca 3 Bulls 1

A brave effort from the Bulls against a big, strong NW Barca. The Bulls were very unlucky in the first half, forcing several corners without any reward. Twice caught on the break by Barca, the Bulls were losing 2-0 at half-time.

Encouraged by great support from the windswept mums and dads, the Bulls kept battling and got back into the game with a well-deserved goal from Max. In an equal second half the Bulls almost drew level, but fell 3-1 behind midway through the half when a corner deflected in off the back of a Barca forward.

Driven on by MOTM Bradley, the Bulls never gave up and created several more chances. Despite the scoreline it was a good performance which deserved a better result.

Sunday, January 27, 2008

Rams 10 NW Athletico 1

The Rams were in unstoppable form again today, two quality strikes early on from Sean Chivers got the Rams underway, a hat trick from the hard working James Heady, two goals from Lewis Dudzik and a 4 goal haul for Arran on his debut for the club who came on in the second half making up for his earlier own goal and then some! Rams with two wins out of two in 2008.

Bulls 3 NW Celta 2

Another fine win for the Bulls, a great game to watch too. The Bulls took the lead through Alfie Jago who unfortunatly had to go off later in the first half with a foot injury. Windsor got back into the game scoring an equaliser before the Bulls took the lead again with a fantastic pass from Max Wallis setting up Bradley Evans who fired home. Callum Gray scored a good long range effort to make it 3 - 1. Windsor got a late goal but the Bulls held on to maintain their 100% winning record this year!

Bulls 5 Boyne Hill Bullets 1

The Bulls started the year off in great style beating Boyne Hill by 5 goals to one. A 'Man of the Match' performance from Bradley Evans who bagged himself 4 goals. Janni Holler scored the 5th from a second half penalty after his initial shot was handled in the box. Captain for the game Charlie Seymour was on top form along with the lively Alfie Jago. This was the Bulls biggest win this season!

Rams 3 Boyne Hill Tornadoes 2

The Rams notched up their first win against the Tornadoes after a hard fought draw earlier in the season . Goals from James Heady, Corey Edwards and Tom Scott ensured the victory. A solid 'Man of the Match' performance from Connor Campbell limited Boyne Hill's oppotunities along with the tough tackling Corey Edwards. Solid game from all of the boys gets 2008 off to winning ways.
