The Rams lined up for the first time ever at the Home of Holtspur against a side that has now 'done the double' over our fierce rivals Burnham Junior Whites!
The Rams continued their fine form this season with another bright start to the match, dominating the early possession. Holtspur hit us on the counter attack a couple of times but defensive partership of Sean and Jamie matched them for pace and were just too strong for the Real strikers to break through.
Tom Scott hit the opener with his 17th goal of the season! Shortly after we made it 2-0 after a great through ball from Tom sent Corey through one on one with the keeper, with the finish calmly slotted away into the corner.
Second half continued much the same as the first with the majority of the chances going to the Rams, a quickly taken corner to Corey caught the Real defense of gaurd, the ball was shifted to the side and the a fantastic strike saw the ball dip into the top corner, 3-0. Connor Campbell had come close to scoring in recent weeks and was on the scoresheet to make it 4-0 after collecting the ball just outside the box, striking the ball sweetly which flew into the top corner, great goal to open your account with and capped another good performance!
Real Holtspur pushed hard to get something out of the match and were rewarded for their efforts after a good passing move made it 4-1. Holtspur struck again to make it 4-2 after what looked like a foul on Ben Hillier, but it wasnt given by the home referee who had also turned down an earlier penalty appeal after James was up ended in the box!
Lewis had another good showing in the Rams goal, Callum and Ben came on and did well in defence as well.
Moment of the match was Connor Cambell smashing his first goal this season into the top corner from well outside the box, well done Connor!
Man of the match went to Jamie for a solid display showing exactly why he was promoted to the Rams, was strong in the tackle, showed great determination, broke up several attacks and rarely gave possession away, well done Jamie.
The Rams have now hit 50 goals in just 12 League games, that's an average of 4.17 goals per game, well done to all of you!
